Before I talk about the Salman Khan starrer Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai, I have a confession to make. I played the Prabhudeva directed film in 1.5 speed on Zee5 and enjoyed it as well. Was it because I saw it in fast mode? Or was it because the actual run time of the film is just under 2 hours? Well, may a little bit of both.
Now coming to the story of Radhe… yes there is one, a rather simple one at that. A not-by-the-book cop takes on the drug mafia in Mumbai city and emerges victorious at the end. There are no heartbreaks, no sacrifices, no sad flashbacks and no parallel plot lines. It is a straightforward good cop beats the crap of the bad guy tale.
There is not much to write about the performances as Radhe is not a superlative cinematic experience. It is purely a mindless entertainment fare, that may make ordinary people forget the chaos around them at least for 109 minutes.
The film also stars Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Siddharth Jadhav and Randeep Hooda. If you have watched some South Indian movies, you may recognise Bharath and Megha Akash in the supporting cast.
The film gives you all that you expect from a masala Sallu Bhai film. It has stylised, over the top action, foot-tapping music, a few comedic moments and lots of baddies that get bashed. Yes, yes, it is not an intelligent movie watching experience. But then sometimes it is okay to have some mindless fare.
Well, that is all I have to say about Radhe, a film for the true blue Salman Khan fan.
Streaming now on Zee5/ Zeeplex.
